Legiland
The Reading Project for Primary and Secondary Education

Legiland is a school-based reading program for primary and secondary education, designed using research on how to foster reading motivation and improve comprehension.

Endorsed by the International Science Teaching Foundation (ISTF), the project transforms reading into a meaningful, measurable, and shared educational experience. It includes more than 15,000 self-correcting quizzes linked to over 1,200 books in Catalan, Spanish, and English.

Developed for Catalan-speaking regions, Legiland offers culturally and linguistically adapted resources, with a continually expanding catalog designed to meet the needs of local schools.

The program certifies extensive reading and enables teachers to track each student’s progress individually, supporting effective pedagogical interventions tailored to the diversity of the classroom. Drawing on international standards for reading assessment—such as those used in the PISA framework—Legiland helps students strengthen key skills, including identifying main ideas, retrieving and interpreting information, and thinking critically.

Grounded in the principle of “read, understand, share,” Legiland emphasizes the reader’s active role. Its recommendation engine and interactive features help students create a personalized reading path, build a strong reading identity, and connect with the educational community through shared reading experiences. The program also promotes the use of print books, encouraging focused, immersive reading free from distractions—thereby revitalizing the school library as a central hub for learning.

The catalog is highly diverse, featuring everything from literary classics and new releases to comics, graphic novels, informational articles, and texts adapted for Easy Reading. In addition, schools can expand their print libraries by purchasing books alongside program licenses.

Legiland is more than a school tool—it’s a reading community that highlights each member’s progress, values reading as a transformative experience beyond the classroom, and turns a love of reading into a driver of both personal and academic growth.

Why Do We Forget?

For better or worse, memory doesn't work that way. But forgetting is not a flaw of memory. Thanks to forgetting, we can reason and imagine
