researchED Conferences:
Educational Research and Classroom Practice

What does research tell us about how we learn? How can this knowledge help teachers? And what happens when widely held ideas about education do not align with the findings of research studies?

researchED was created to provide a space for discussion around these questions. It is an international initiative that brings together researchers, teachers, teacher educators, and education leaders to share knowledge and explore how it can be translated into classroom practice.

Evidence-Informed Education Conferences

The starting point is simple: educational research produces valuable information, but it does not always reach teachers in a clear and useful form. At the same time, ideas and methods whose effectiveness is taken for granted circulate in education, even though they are not always scientifically validated. researchED conferences seek to bridge this gap through presentations that combine research findings with the experience of those who work in schools every day.

Improving Learning Through Evidence-Based Educational Strategies

The International Science Teaching Foundation (ISTF) organizes researchED in Spain as part of its commitment to evidence-based education. The foundation works to bring scientific knowledge closer to teaching, particularly in STEM fields, and to help teaching teams base their educational decisions on what we know about learning. Since 2023, ISTF has organized conferences in Barcelona, Pamplona, and Madrid. You can find more information and see upcoming events on the official researchED website.

Each conference is organized in collaboration with researchED and features researchers and teachers from different countries. Universities, schools, and organizations from the host city also participate. Science Bits and Math Bits regularly participate as sponsors.

In this way, researchED does not view research and teaching as two separate fields. Instead, it provides a space where the two can come together, ask questions, and learn from one another.
