Developed under the scientific guidance of the International Science Teaching Foundation (ISTF), the program is the result of a collaboration among specialists in math education, teachers, mathematicians, researchers, video producers, and multimedia professionals. The Math Bits project translates research findings in mathematics pedagogy into classroom strategies that promote lasting, functional, transferable, and productive learning.
Following the 5E instructional model—a constructivist framework that integrates guided inquiry, explicit instruction, and the application of concepts—Math Bits provides multimedia teaching units that promote active learning and the development of mathematical competencies. Videos, animations, interactive simulations, projects, and structured practice activities form a robust repertoire designed to deepen understanding, address common misconceptions, and show how math is useful in everyday situations.

The instructional goals of Math Bits focus on building essential educational competencies and a solid grasp of key mathematical concepts. The program uses strategies that center on “learning by thinking” and connects mathematical knowledge to real-life situations—such as interpreting data, solving problems, managing resources, and analyzing everyday phenomena.
Math Bits also includes self-assessment tools, progress-tracking features, teacher guides, and a printable version to support implementation across a variety of school environments. It can be used either as a replacement for traditional textbooks or as a supplement to enhance classroom practice.
Thousands of students are already using Math Bits to actively engage with mathematics, connect it to real-life situations, and build essential skills for the future.
