What are cookies?
A “cookie” is a small data file that is downloaded to the terminal (computer/Smartphone/Tablet) of visitors who access certain web pages (hereinafter, the “Users“), in order to store and retrieve information about the browsing performed from them.
These files are stored in the User’s terminal, and contain data that is not harmful to their equipment. They are used to remember User preferences, such as the selected language, access data or page customisation. Cookies may also be used to record anonymous information about how a visitor uses a website. For example, the website from which they are accessed, or if they have used an advertising “banner” to arrive.
Types of cookies
Depending on which entity manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types of cookies can be distinguished: own cookies and third-party cookies.
There is also a second classification according to the length of time that they remain stored in the client’s browser, which may be session cookies (they disappear at the end of the session) or persistent cookies (the data is still stored on the terminal for a defined period of time).
Finally, there is another classification based on the types of cookies according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalisation cookies, analysis cookies, advertising cookies, behavioural advertising cookies, etc.
Cookies used on the Web
The cookies that are being used on this webpage (hereinafter, the “Web“) are identified below, as well as their type and function:
- Technical cookies: those that allow the User to browse through a Web, platform or application and the use of the different options or services that exist therein. These cookies are necessary for the websites to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the websites will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
- Analytical cookies: these cookies help us measure how Users interact on our web page.
- Advertising cookies: these cookies are used to show you advertisements on the Web.
